Supported Macs and iPhones

Mac requirements

GhostMe requires macOS 15 Sequoia or later. Apple silicon and Intel Macs both work. You need a network connection for map search and route calculation.

What GhostMe installs

Nothing on your iPhone. On the Mac it needs Apple’s command line tools, which is a free download from Apple that GhostMe walks you through the first time you open it. It takes a few minutes and you only do it once.

A brand new iOS release occasionally lands before Apple’s tools know how to talk to it. When that happens the phone shows up but is not ready yet, and updating the tools fixes it.

iPhone and iPad requirements

The iPhone or iPad has to be unlocked, trusted by the Mac, and have Developer Mode turned on. There is no model list to check against, because GhostMe asks the phone what it can do rather than guessing from its name. If it shows up as ready in the sidebar, it works.

Nothing gets installed on the phone. No app, no profile, no jailbreak. See the Developer Mode guide for the one setting you need to turn on.

USB and Wi-Fi

Plug in with a cable the first time so the two devices can trust each other. After that the phone often shows up over Wi-Fi on the same network. A cable is still the steadier option for a long route, since nothing can drop out mid-way.

License support

One purchase covers up to 1Macs, for good. Searching places and planning routes is free, so you can confirm your iPhone connects before paying. Setting a location is the part that needs a key. It lives in your Mac’s Keychain and keeps working for two weeks offline.

What GhostMe does not support

• Android phones or Android emulators.
• iPhones that are not trusted and paired with the Mac.
• Location changes without Apple’s Developer Mode.
• Remote control of somebody else’s phone or account.
• Bypassing an app’s safety, fraud, or integrity checks.
