GhostMe keeps route history on your Mac. MapKit, Polar, and optional website analytics each receive a narrow and different set of data.

Routes and device control
Place searches and directions use Apple MapKit. Apple receives the search text, approximate map context, and route request under Apple’s service terms. GhostMe stores recent origin, destination, transport mode, distance, duration, and route coordinates in a local SQLite database on your Mac.
Route coordinates are sent to the selected iPhone through Apple’s local Xcode device service. GhostMe does not upload your route history to our servers, and there is no GhostMe account or route database.
Mac location
If you choose My Location, macOS asks for location permission and Core Location provides a starting coordinate. Denying permission does not block manual place search. GhostMe does not send that coordinate to Optimal Life Technologies; MapKit receives it only as context for search or directions when needed.
License validation
Polar handles checkout and license keys. Activation sends the key, GhostMe organization and benefit identifiers, a human-readable Mac name, and the Mac hardware UUID used to enforce the three-device activation limit. The record is stored in the macOS Keychain with device-only protection.
GhostMe validates at launch when needed, every 15 minutes while open, and before a paid action when the stored result is stale. Temporary network failures use the last successful result for up to 14 days. Revoked or refunded keys are removed locally after Polar returns a definitive response.
Website measurement
This site is a static export with no application backend. When a public PostHog project key is configured, the browser sends anonymous events for price exposure, checkout start, download, and return from checkout. Those events include the assigned price variant, page URL, anonymous browser identifier, currency, and conversion value. Session recording is not enabled by this implementation.
The browser stores the assigned price, anonymous analytics identifier, download-disclaimer acknowledgement, and checkout deduplication value. Clear site data to remove them. If PostHog is not configured, no analytics request is made.
Payments
Polar is the merchant of record. Card details are entered on Polar’s checkout and never reach this site or the app. Polar emails the license and hosts the portal where a buyer can retrieve the key or remove a Mac activation.
Access, deletion, and contact
Route history can be removed by deleting GhostMe’s application data. License activations can be managed in Polar’s portal. For purchase data, refunds, privacy requests, or questions, email support@optimalapps.ca.
